Weekly Email--Week 41

Image
Alysha didn't get a chance to write her weekly email so she just asked me (her Mom) to summarize for her, UHHHH............not sure I'm qualified to do that but here goes: A very   short   summary of her week: She had zone conference where she played a piano solo, she rode her bike for the first time in 2 months, she created some missionary art work, she saw her first sprinkler in Indiana because apparently hardly anyone uses them because it rains so much, she taught some lessons and held some kittens. I guess just enjoy some of the pictures she sent us this week. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.

Hey Everyone! This week has been crazy crazy busy! A lot of meetings and lessons! I got a new Comp, Sister SilvaCaycedo, she came out with me, which is so fun!  One cool experience was we were running to a member lesson after having a million meetings on Sunday and had prepared a quick lesson expecting kids. No kiddos were there and I had no idea what to share. But then as I tried to heed the spirit, I recalled scripture and was able to share it and we had an awesome lesson! Kinda reminded me of D&C 100:6 "For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say." We pretty much invited everyone to be baptized this week...  Okay, that's all for this week! Love, Sister Cox 1. Accidently matched 2. First time Eneliz fed the missionaries  3. Saying bye to Sis. Stanley. 4. A neat weed. Or flower. Idk. 5.My new Mission President, President Riding and Sister Riding   I was finally able to finish the row for the 9th month/halfway mar...

We reached 9 Months--the half way mark!!!

Hi everyone!  I can't believe it's been 9 months. And there's nothing quite like it. To testify of Jesus Christ and to teach his doctrine not only changes the lives of those I'm teaching, but it is changing my life. The friends I've made out here are unforgettable! The experiences I've had, where I've grown closer to God are so sacred and special to me! 9 more months to go! This week we were sitting at the park and some teens came up to us and asked if we like Jesus (which we do) :). They then gave US a passalong we had given them! Haha, so funny. We worked on not Bashing. You can't tell someone the gospel is true, they have to learn it through the spirit.  We had another awesome lesson with Ashley and her family. Also, met our new mission president!  We also had one night stacked full of lessons, but then every single one of them was canceled. And it was raining.  The next day we spent the night in the sketchy part of town and all our lessons worked o...

Hi Everyone! It was a week where everyone cancels and reschedules.  My bug bites are a lot like the stars...numberless. But we said good bye to President Page. So sad! I really respect the Pages and all that they have sacrificed for this mission! Well, as far as stories go, we had some more awesome lessons with Ashley and her two kids Charity and Ethan. It was the coolest thing! Ashley expressed her feelings about the timing of our first meeting, that it was so vital to helping her get through this hard time. She said she had to schedule a lot of meetings and could have done Tuesday evenings, but she wasn't sure she could make it that long between our lessons, so she scheduled it earlier. She said these lessons have been such a support in such a trying time. Ethan has encouraged them to read the BoM together when they are feeling down! They are reading the BoM and keeping commitments. It's awesome! Anyway, we taught Ashley the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Then we called Ste...
