139 I Stand All Amazed! Week 15
Hello everyone!
This week has been crazy! Westfield has been a super slow area until this week! We've been doing a lot of Facebook work and been finding through that. There's 2 people, Beth and Cynthia we're going to be doing bible studies with, then a few more people we'll be meeting soon to deliver pictures of Christ to! This is seriously so crazy! We had our first Bible study with Cynthia and she's awesome! Also, found a friend Brian who doesn't live in our area, so we referred him to the Carmel elders!
It makes me think of when Elder Utchdorf said "In the past, we might have been so tied to traditional approaches that it took a pandemic to open our eyes. Perhaps we were still building with sandstone when granite was already available. Of necessity, we are now learning how to use a variety of methods, including technology, to invite people—in normal and natural ways—to come and see, come and help, and come and belong"
We also visited Kelly, a lady who requested that we come pray with her. We'd reached out over text and call and got no response so finally we went to her house, and she was actually so sweet. She invited us in and we said a prayer with her. We're excited to visit again! She texted and asked what church we're from so we gave her the address!
Also, we went knocking on our friend Axels's door only to find Axel Senior!! He said Axel had moved to take care of his daughter, but he'd let him know that we stopped by. Axel Senior is a nice guy and definitely someone we'd love to reach out to again!
Then, we finished the week with Jose! He requested a free Spanish Bible that we were able to give to him. However because we only speak Un poco Espaรฑol, we asked him if he'd be interested in doing bible studies with the Spanish missionaries. But he was so nice and so so grateful for the Bible!
But on Saturday we got the transfer call. I'll be heading to Eagle Creek. It's not too far from my current area, but I've heard good things about it. Crazy to be leaving my first area! I'm gonna be super sad to leave Sister Hales too, she's been such a fun companion! ♡
Then we invited Kelly to church and she didn't come this week, but she's interested and will probably come soon. Then Sister Hales texted a referral that hadn't responded in probably a month or two, inviting her to church, an she responded!! ๐ฎ๐คฏ๐๐ฅณ๐
Jk jk. (I've been writing this email as the week has progressed). We ended the week with a visit to Amy's. She hadn't been responding to our texts and we were kinda feeling like maybe they hate us, idk?? At first we knocked and her boyfriend answered and said she was sleeping. So we head out to do Facebook work in the car. But then, she calls us half an hour later, so we head over and what a visit! Amy got a concussion, and Kevin's Mom had a stroke and they've both really been struggling. So we shared a scripture with them and prayed. It was a powerful prayer. We're lining up a priesthood blessing for them and Kevin's mom tonight. Can't wait for the sisters to keep teaching!
I have to admit this whole week has left me a little stunned. There are so many times where Sister Hales and I have got an amazing text and shouted to the universe "What is happening?!" Literally can't believe what crazy amazing finding week we've been having! For sure, it's been the best week here in Westfield!
Love,
Sister Cox
