Week 29 Email

 Hello Everyone!

This past week was pretty amazing! At first it started out a little meh. Haha, on Tuesday me and my companion were walking out of the library and I made a comment that she disagreed with and I just felt like, why can't we just get along? Then in that brief moment before getting into the car I said a prayer, pleading for grace, for God's help as I did my best to be a peacemaker in this companionship. I had no idea that such a small prayer could be so powerful! This week has been filled with so so many miracles, and I'd say a lot of them rooted in that little prayer.
But here we go, so we stopped by our friend Daniel's house for the millionth time, then when he didn't answer, went and knocked on his neighbor's doors. What the heck, almost everysingle person who answered was interested!? We also met this lady who spoke Spanish, so she called her son down to come translate and he was like, "Are you missionaries for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!? We were actually baptized into that church back in Mexico!" That morning I had decided to bring a spanish Book of Mormon with me (something I've never done bro!?) and we gave it to this member family and gave them the church information. God looks out for his children! What a crazy miracle.
Also, get this. We were hunting down this guy named Gregory who we had saw that missionaries had met with before.
We knock on his door.
Guy answers, Gregory moved, but the guy who answered (Rob) is interested and says come back tomorrow. We come back tomorrow with a Sister from the ward so we can teach a lesson. He's not home. Killer. But then we decide to go tracting on four doors, and Anthony answers! He's pretty interested!! We've already had a phone lesson and plan to go back and teach him again this week! He actually responds over text. Such a blessing!!! Haha, kinda awesome. Also we're not done with Rob yet. We're coming for you bro!
We also were tracting in another neighborhood and had little success. Until--We switched complexs and BAM first door, Ms. Linda. At first I didn't think she was interested, then as we mentioned the Book of Mormon she was like, "Oh, you're Mormons" I was like, "Na, that's a nickname, but we actually prefer the name Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because Mormon didn't die for our sins, Jesus did." I didn't think she was going to be interested, but as we corrected the full name of the church, she shifted and we were able to teach part of the restoration and left her with a Book of Mormon and restoration pamplet! Using the correct name of the church brings miracles! Following the prophet brings miracles!!
Then, we're waiting for the Pages to give us a ride back home after church and they're in Choir. We were able to come chat with this lady, Katina a member in the ward and it was so fun! We got to know her better and were able to estabish a good friendship. She said she might be interested in joining lessons if we invite her! Score!
Also I forgot to mention that the Armstrongs literally brought their soon to be Granddaughter-in-law to church!!! We sat by her and were able to get to know her. She said she'll probably be back next week. Can't wait! Let's go Trinity! Also so so cool member missionaries! It was so cute as the Armstrongs were so excited to introduce us at church! <3
We also met this sweet less active sister Olayinka, who has just been going through a hard time as her little boy died a few years ago, and going to church is just a very painful reminder for her. But we were able to have a sweet visit. Hopefully we can continue to develop that friendship! I was so glad to be able to stop by and let her know that she was cared about and loved, even if she isn't ready to come to church yet, we still love and look out for her.
We also were able to do a facebook video with one of the families in our ward and it was awesome! (Super stressful setting it up, but totally worth it in the end). You can check it out on the Followers of Jesus Christ in Indianapolis fb page (once we get it uploaded). But then we got to ride home with this family, and I felt so at home! They drive a suburban (my old family vehicle) and I just adored it! I felt so at home, literally one of my favorite moments this week.
Honestly there are more miracles I could write about (But I didn't journal super good this week, hehe so I forgot some of them). Why so many miracles this week? I'd say better comp unity, which was possible because of grace as I pleaded for it in a mighty, but short prayer. We do the best we can, and God can make up the difference.
Alright yall, hope you enjoyed the enormous email, because it probably wont ever be this big again. haha. Love you all!
