Alysha's Weekly Mission Email Week 62

Hey!

This week we met with our campus friends, for the last time before winter break sets in. 3 weeks of empty campus. Remember that detail, it'll be important for later.
One of the girls in the branch left for her mission on Tuesday, but we got to be in a trio for the beginning of the day because she didn't have anything to do. That was so fun! We got to do comp study and teach a lesson together. She's awesome!
Then, we went on exchanges and I got to go with Sister Peterson. That exchange was super cool. She's on her first transfer, but such a good missionary. Haha, when we walked into a thrift store during lunch (they have free bread), a guy walks up to us and starts talking about church with us, how he wants to go to church, and the missionaries used to knock on his door and we got his number and I started to explain what the Book of Mormon is and give him a copy when another man walks close and kinda joins the conversation, then he tells us not to proselyte in his store. He was pretty rude and announced to the whole store his thoughts about the Book of Mormon. We left with our new friend (without free bread :'( ).
I took Sis. Peterson to the car and we listened to some uplifting music. Lol, idk why I get bashed most on exchanges with brand new missionaries. But she took it good. Haha, it was one of those days where people slam the door, are anti, or just not super soft hearted, but we kept knocking and rolling with the punches. It was a super fun exchange, and the last few doors we knocked, we found some cool people.
This week an elder went home unexpectedly, that companionship was covering 2 areas. And because the ball state missionaries were about to have nothing to do, it kinda worked out perfectly because we took one area, Anderson, and the Elders took the other area.
We have been so worried about what we would do this winter break, and things just worked out.
Anderson is so awesome!! Sister Brown and I have been excited to get to work in this area!! The ward was so excited to have sister missionaries in it. The first night a member brought us over a ton of groceries since we didn't have much. When we got to church one member made this hilarious comment: "Have we repented enough to get sisters??"
Also, remember our friend Ethan who recently got baptized? We taught him and his mom a lesson. His mom wants to start learning from the missionaries!!! She's not a ysa, so we'll pass her off to some other sisters, but so excited for her!!!
Okay, that's all for this week!
