Week 28 Email

Hello Everyone! This week we had a lesson with Rash and one of our members (I'm learning that lessons go 2,000,000 times better when there's a member present!!) and it was awesome! We read through the first two chapters in the Book of Mormon and he loved it! Too bad he actually lives in the Elder's area. We referred him over haha. I came across this idea to treat your area like it's the best area in the whole mission, each companion like they're the best companion in the whole mission, each Transfer like it's the best transfer, each day like it's the best, etc! I thought that was cool! I'm definitely trying to keep my motto, no regrets! We stopped by Chasity's house on a rough day for her and she said, how do you girls always appear at just the right time?  We stopped by Randy and Fatima's for a lesson, but they'd just had some family drama and we ended up just praying with them and encouraging them to read the beginning of the Book of Morm...

Week 17 Two Sister Missionaries Walked and Walked and Walked!!

Hello!! This week we taught a guy named Randy. It was literally so cool. I've heard people tell stories like this, but it's crazy when it happens to you! So we told the first vision account and he says, "that's true, I know it is." Then he talked about how he was praying more recently because he had a thought, what if God misses me? So excited to teach his family about the Plan of Salvation!!! We met his wife and she's interested in learning more too!! It was awesome! Two members joined the lesson and it just wouldn't have been the same without them! Members are so so important in missionary work! We also put Derrick on date to be baptized! There's still more to teach, but it's coming together! We had a brief zoom lesson with Toneisha, but no updates there. :'( Sister Devey's bike tire popped so we ended up doing some walking this weekend, but we had randomly gotten some free bike tires the day before! It was perfect (of course neither of...

Week 26

Image
Hey everyone! This week Sister Devey's phone got busted (dropped while selfie-ing). Final week of the transfer, pretty crazy! This transfer has been short, but also eternal. Haha. We went out tracting and the spirit just wasn't with us. So when we finally arrived to the area we were going to tract, we decided to study some scriptures to bring the spirit back. We read the first vision account and that was so powerful. God did appear to Joseph Smith! That strengthened my testimony, and the rest of the night ended awesome. Exchanges were sweet as we found some awesome people. A guy found a passalong card and actually called us!! Derrick watched General Conference with a bunch of coworkers, that amazing lil' missionary. Also, I've been serving for 6 months! I can't believe that!! 1/3 of the mission accomplished! I want to make sure in these coming weeks to live so I have no regrets, by giving it my all!! That's all for this week!  Sister Cox Here's a favorite ...

Week 25 Weekly Update

Image
Hi Everyone! First off, General Conference was amazing. It was super powerful. We were able to watch different sessions with some widows and with the Read family. It was amazing! This conference I tried to really pay attention to impressions specifically for me. That was powerful. I definitely felt tutored. Yalls, this is a day of revelation. The heavens are not closed! We have prophets, seers and revelators. The Book of Mormon is true. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. The Spirit is so powerful as I read that book! Joseph Smith was a prophet. The day of miracles is today! On Saturday morning we had district council about one of the Elders talked about goals. He gave this example of how fleas when put in a jar can only jump as high as the lid, and after a while once you take off the lid, they will never jump higher. Basically, I was super inspired by the idea of reaching my full potential as a missionary. I don't want to just jump as high as the lid, but as high as I can. ...
